Tom Gullikson
Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Tom Gullikson (56 years old) played
professional tennis from 1976 to 1986. He has won 16 ATP Doubles
titles and one ATP Singles events at the Newport, Rhode Island event
in 1985. With twin brother Tim, they won 10 ATP doubles titles together
and reached the 1983 Wimbledon doubles finals. Tom also won the
1984 US Open mix doubles title with Manuela Maleeva. He was one of
the original members and National Coach for the newly developed
USTA Player Development Program in 1988 and was the Director of
Coaching from 1997 to 2001. Tom was also the US Davis Cup coach
from 1994-1999 where he led the team in winning the title in 1995 with
a team comprised of Pete Sampras, Jim Courier, Andre Agassi and
Todd Martin. He was also selected as the US Men’s Olympic Coach for
Tennis for the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta where Andre Agassi
captured the Gold Medal. He is currently the Chairman of the Tim &
Tom Gullikson Foundation where they have raised over $4 million to
support brain tumor patients and their families and continues to play
on the senior tour where he has won three US Open Master’s singles
titles, six Masters doubles titles and two senior Wimbledon doubles
crowns. He has written many instruction articles for Tennis Magazine,
USTA and has worked as a television commentator for ESPN and
CBS. Tom has two daughters and resides with his wife Julie in Palm
Coast, Florida.
